The 'hei tiki' lesson

 On Friday the 22nd of June we went for a lesson in the government gardens tea house, it was all about 'hei tiki' (a traditional maori charm made from Jade, that is mostly given to women when they are newly married).
We learned how people used to use hei tiki in the past and how we use it now.
We also made a tiki from felt, thread & buttons.

X country

On Monday yrs 3-6 went for a  X-country  in the redwoods.It was really fun because the redwoods have hills, I loved the downhill.

The ascension

What's the difference between the ascension and the resurrection?

The resurrection was when Jesus arose again as a living person,that means we could see him,touch him, & hear him and he actually rose from the dead.

During the ascension Jesus came back as a spirit,this meant he was not a living person.So the apostles could only see him & hear him,then he was in heaven forever.

My Reading Goals

• By the end of term 2 I will be able to skim & scan different texts for information. 
• By the end of term 2 I will be able to know what inference is.
• By the end of term 3 I will be able to respond using understandings & information

My Writing Goals

My writing goal for term 2 is to use a range of different sentence starters to make my writing more
interesting.
My writing goal is that by the end of term 4 I will be able to
deliberately use vocabulary in my writing to make my writing
better and to hook the reader.

By the end of term 1 I will be able to find  fractions of number. E.g ¾  of 16.
